Yaoi Press is the number one publisher of global
yaoi manga in North America. What separates us from other major
Western publishers of yaoi is that most of our books are not reprints
from Japan and Korea. Most graphic novels we publish are rated
for Mature Readers, which generally means ages 16 and older.
Yaoi Press started in 2004 and has put out 45 yaoi
publications. Our titles are have been published in German, Italian,
Spanish, and Polish. Yaoi Press has licensed and translated work
from Italy and Spain. Studio Kosen of Spain, M.A. Sambre of France,
Dany&Dany and Le Peruggine of Italy, and many other incredibly
talented creators have made their English language debut with
Yaoi Press.
Yaoi Press creates unique fan merchandise including
messenger bags, cell phone holders, parasols, buttons, coloring
books, novelty items, and backpacks. We are the company behind
the gorgeous yaoi poker deck illustrated by Studio Kosen.
A large part of our business happens at Anime conventions,
which we tour continuously throughout the year. Yaoi Press often
brings special guests to shows, and has a dealers booth offering
merchandise from all Yaoi Publishers.
In between shows fans can visit our virtual yaoi
dealers booth via our online store Everythingyaoi.com.
We always sell our titles at a steep discount there. We also offer
discounted yaoi from numerous other publishers. Customers receive
free gifts for their loyalty, and there is low cost shipping available
world wide.
Yaoi Press has business alliances with Netcomics
and Digital Manga for the online distribution of our books at
Netcomics.com and Emanga.com.
Yaoi Press works with Fika Publishing for iPhone distribution
of our graphic novels. We plan to have all our current titles
published for download on the Kindle via Amazon.com by the end
of 2009.
Yaoi Press has teamed with the illustrious Studio
Kosen to launch Yaoi Prose
in December 2009. Yaoi Prose will have illustrated ebooks based
on Kosen's popular Saihoshi graphic novel, and based on characters
from the Winter Demon series.
SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED
It pains us to do this. We know it disappoints many hopeful creators.
We want to publish every creator who's submission makes us gasp
and swoon. We hate to discourage promising talent.
We know you would hate it if you never got paid for your work,
or if something you toiled on never got printed due to lack of
funds. If we want to remain an ethical publisher we have to be
responsible. We can't give contracts to people we may not have
the money to pay for. We can't have artists and writers toil for
us when we may not have the money to pay the printer to manufacture
their books.
We don't have guarantees on our revenue streams in this terrible
economy. If we overestimate our earnings we could be in a situation
where bills do not get paid. When things are stable then the numbers
become stable and we can confidently stick our necks out again.
For now we have to hoard our nuts. We are in this for the long
haul. We want to be one of the trees left standing at the end
of the drought.
All submissions we received in the past have been filed for future
review. We will go over this file and follow-up with promising
creators when our publishing schedule has open slots.
We are inundated with emails from creators asking us to follow-up
on their submissions. The last thing we wanted was to respond
to everyone with this negative reality and have it misconstrued.
Future follow-up emails will be referred to this page. We have
your submission on file along with over 1,200 others. There's
nothing we can do with them right now.
This page will hopefully put a bandage on the overflow of emails.
What we don't want is for the page to lead to more emails with
more questions. This explanation is the best we can offer to hopeful
creators. We are not a viable outlet for submissions right now.
When this changes we will revise this page.
